What is SICA?

SICA stands for Stocksfield Institute Community Association.

SICA is run by a Management Committee made up of members representing the various groups of membership and the sections. The day to day running of the Community Centre is carried out by the Warden whilst the Management Committee oversee such items as building maintenance, fund raising, communication, finance, new developments and staffing matters.

VOLUNTEERS FOR THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE ARE ALWAYS WELCOME. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BECOMING INVOLVED WITH THE RUNNING OF YOUR COMMUNITY CENTRE, PLEASE CONTACT THE WARDEN.

What does SICA do?

SICA provides local residents with the opportunity and facilities to enjoy a wide range of leisure, recreational and educational facilities.

SICA co-operates with the WRVS to provide Meals on Wheels twice a week.

SICA runs a Pre-School Group three mornings a week for 2½ year olds to Broomley Nursery School age.

SICA runs a Youth Club in conjunction with the Prudhoe Youth Organisation.

SICA hires out rooms and equipment.

SICA maintains close links with the Parish, District and County Councils.

SCAN

Material for inclusion in SCAN must reach the Editor either directly or through the SICA Office by the 18th of the preceding month.

If you know of any event worthy of inclusion, or would like to place an advertisement in SCAN, please contact the Editor.
