Stocksfield South of Tyne Flower Club was formed in September 1976 to provide an interest in friendship, gardening, flowers, and flower arranging. We continue to have a healthy growing membership.

The meetings are held in Stocksfield Community Centre on the first Thursday of every month from September to May, and also have two extra meetings in April and November where non members may visit the open meetings to see National and International demonstrators.

Our members have taken part in many flower festivals throughout the area and the club has independently staged some very impressive festivals, namely:

1989 The Churches of St Peter & St Andrew at Bywell
1993 Greenside Church (Ryton Music Festival)
1994 Stocksfield Methodist Church
2000 Prudhoe Castle. "The Wind in the Willows"
2002 Aydon Castle. "Where Fairies Haunt"
2003 Wylam Methodist Church. "Centenary Prudhoe Gleemen"
2004 Minsteracres Monastery. "Centenary St. Elizabeth's Church"
2006 Dilston Castle & Chapel. "Mencap National College

We have donated generously to charitable causes throughout the years by the hard work and dedication of our members.

We are and active club taking part in local, regional and national events.

Many most interesting club outings have taken place to Paris & Monet's Gardens, the Holland Festivals London & the Royal Hampton Garden show, Guernsey the Dutch Bulb Fields & the Cornish Gardens. 2006 sees a visit to Bournemouth & the Gardens of Exbury RHS Wisley & others.

Many other outings take place locally.

Competitive work is undertaken by some members and one of our esteemed members has won two individual Chelsea Gold medals and a Silver and Bronze medal too! And has also represented our country at the World show in Canada.
